    Coronavirus - Dresden

19 April 2021, Saxony, Dresden: A sign “#NoCovid now!“ and candles are placed in front of the state chancellery. Politicians had called for the nationwide day of remembrance under the motto “light window“ to light candles in memory of the Corona victims and place them in the window. However, there was also criticism of the action, so on Twitter under the hashtag “Einkerzen“ the policy was given a share of the blame and demanded stricter measures. Candles were also lit in front of the state chancellery in Dresden and posters with the motto #einkerzen or #nocovid were put up. Photo: Robert Michael/dpa-Zentralbild/dpa、クレジット:DPA/共同通信イメージズ

Commemoration of the Day of Liberation in Sachsenhausen

18 April 2021, Brandenburg, Oranienburg: Wreaths and flowers from organizations and parties lie next to Waldemar Grzimek‘s group of figures at the “Station Z“ memorial site at the Sachsenhausen Memorial as part of the central commemoration events on Liberation Day. “Station Z“ was the name given by the SS to a building erected in early 1942 that was a crematorium and place of extermination. “Z“ as the last letter of the alphabet, cynically stood for the last station in the life of a prisoner.
