The right image shows the collector head secured onto the capture ring in the SRC. Both photos, released by NASA on October 29, 2020, were captured by the StowCam camera. The OSIRIS-REx team will now focus on preparing the spacecraft for the next phase of the mission - Earth Return Cruise. The departure window opens in March 2021 for OSIRIS-REx to begin its voyage home, and the spacecraft is targeting the delivery of the SRC to Earth on September 24, 2023. 2020年11月23日China Launches Chang窶册 5 Mission To MoonNovember 23, 2020 - Hainan Island, China - Chang‘e 5 is a Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA) lunar sample return mission that launched on 23 November at approximately 20:30:12 UT (3:30 p.m. EST; 24 November 4:30 a.m. Beijing Time). Liftoff was from Wenchang Space Launch Center on Hainan Island, China, on a Long March 5. The mission goal is to land in the Mons Rumker region of Oceanus Procellarum (roughly 41-45 deg. N, 49-69 deg. W), operate for one lunar day (two weeks) and return a 2 to 4 kg sample of lunar regolith, possibly from as deep as 2 meters. The sample will be returned to Earth in the return capsule using an atmospheric ‘‘skip‘‘ reentry and landing in the Siziwang Banner grassland of the autonomous region of Inner Mongolia in China. 2022年07月27日NASA Will Inspire World When It Returns Mars Samples to Earth in 2033July 27, 2022 - Mars Surface - This illustration shows a concept for multiple robots that would team up to ferry to Earth samples collected from the Mars surface by NASA‘s Mars Perseverance rover. NASA has finished the system requirements review for its Mars Sample Return Program, which is nearing completion of the conceptual design phase. During this phase, the program team evaluated and refined the architecture to return the scientifically selected samples, which are currently in the collection process by NASA‘s Perseverance rover in the Red Planet‘s Jezero Crater. The architecture for the campaign, which includes contributions from the European Space Agency (ESA), is expected to reduce the complexity of future missions and increase probability of success. 2022年12月07日NASAÕs Perseverance Rover Gets the Dirt on MarsDecember 7, 2022 - Florida, USA - The drill bits used by NASA‘s Perseverance rover are seen before being installed prior to launch. From left, the regolith bit, six bits used for drilling rock cores, and two abrasion bits used to remove the dust-covered outer layer of a rock so that the rover can take accurate data of its composition. NASA‘s Perseverance rover snagged two new samples from the Martian surface on Dec. 2 and 6. But unlike the 15 rock cores collected to date, these newest samples came from a pile of wind-blown sand and dust similar to but smaller than a dune. Now contained in special metal collection tubes, one of these two samples will be considered for deposit on the Martian surface sometime this month as part of the Mars Sample Return campaign. FILE. 2022年12月16日Perseverance Rover to Begin Building Martian Sample DepotDecember 16, 2022, Mars Surface: Shown here is a representation of the 21 sample tubes (containing rock, regolith, atmosphere, and witness materials) that have been sealed to date by NASA‘s Perseverance Mars rover. The samples Perseverance is depositing into a depot are highlighted in green.. The 10 sample tubes being dropped on Mars surface so they can be studied on Earth in the future carry an amazing diversity of Red Planet geology. In the coming days, NASA‘s Perseverance rover is expected to begin building the first sample depot on another world. This will mark a crucial milestone in the NASA-ESA (European Space Agency) Mars Sample Return campaign, which aims to bring Mars samples to Earth for closer study. 2022年12月27日NASA‘s Perseverance Rover Deposits First Sample On Mars SurfaceDecember 27, 2022: A titanium tube containing a rock sample is resting on the Red Planetââ¬â¢s surface after being placed there on Dec. 21 by NASAââ¬â¢s Perseverance Mars rover. Over the next two months, the rover will deposit a total of 10 tubes at the location, called ââ¬ÅThree Forks,ââ¬Â building humanityââ¬â¢s first sample depot on another planet. The depot marks a historic early step in the Mars Sample Return campaign...Perseverance has been taking duplicate samples from rock targets the mission selects. The rover currently has the other 17 samples (including one atmospheric sample) taken so far in its belly. Based on the architecture of the Mars Sample Return campaign, the rover would deliver samples to a future robotic lander. The lander would, in turn, use a robotic arm to place the samples in a containment capsule aboard a small rocket that would blast off to Mars orbit, where another spacecraft would capture the sample container and return it safely to Earth...The depot will serve as a backu...
