  • Affects of Tea mosquito bug: Helopeltis sp. harming to Tea leaves to growth in Sylhet Tarapur Tea Garden, Bangladesh

Affects of Tea mosquito bug: Helopeltis sp. harming to Tea leaves to growth in Sylhet Tarapur Tea Garden, Bangladesh

September 5, 2021: Tea leaves are being damaged in Sylhet Tarapur tea garden of Bangladesh due to the effect of tea mosquito bug (Helopeltis theivora).Leaves are deformed and show angular lesions, particularly along the veins, which may drop off. For this reason, antioxidant activity reduced when the shoots are infested by tea mosquito bug. The infestation of tea mosquito bug significantly reduced the physiological parameters of tea leaves and quality parameters of made tea that hamper the quality of drinking tea. The growth of trees is seriously retarded and fruit formation of attacking flowering shoots is reduced.
