    Silutitansinensis(左)とHamititytanxinjiangensis(右)、ハミ翼竜動物群の生態想像図。(資料写真、趙闖氏作図)中国科学院古脊椎動物・古人類研究所の汪筱林(おう・しょうりん)研究員率いる研究チームがこのほど、新疆ウイグル自治区にあるハミ(哈密)翼竜動物群で初めて大型恐竜の化石を発見した。これをもとに、中国とブラジルの科学者の共同研究チームは、恐竜の新種2種を確認した。今回見つかった化石3点は竜脚類恐竜で、6個つながった頸椎と頸肋(けいろく)、尾椎が7個つながったもの、仙椎が砕けたもので、いずれも不完全な状態だった。研究者らは、前述2点の化石標本をもとに、竜脚類エウヘロプス属の新属種「Silutitansinensis」とティタノサウルス類の新属種「Hamititytanxinjiangensis」を確立。新属種の名は、シルクロードにちなんで命名された。(北京=新華社配信)= 配信日: 2021(令和3)年8月16日、クレジット:新華社/共同通信イメージズ
