    Federal Constitutional Court to hear ban on euthanasia

    16 April 2019, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Karlsruhe: Roger Kusch, chairman of the board of the association Sterbehilfe Deutschland, is waiting in the Federal Constitutional Court for the start of the oral hearing on the ban on euthanasia. Euthanasia as a service has been a punishable offence for a good three years now. The court is hearing a number of lawsuits against the ban. With Section 217 of the Criminal Code, the legislator wanted to prevent suicide assistance associations such as Sterbehilfe Deutschland or Dignitas from Switzerland from expanding their services for paying members.
