The student leader and ideologist of the Socialist German Student Union (SDS) was buried on January 3, 1980 in the St. Annen cemetery in Berlin-Dahlem. On April 11, 1968, 23-year-old worker Josef Erwin Bachmann shot and critically injured Rudi Dutschke in front of the SDS office in Berlin.
