2021年09月29日Hawaii‘s Kilauea Volcano EruptsSeptember 29, 2021, Kilauea, California, USA: A USGS Hawaiian Volcano Observatory geologist collects ‘tephra‘ or cinder thrown up during he eruption from Halema‘uma‘u crater on Kilauea summit. One of the most active volcanos on Earth is erupting on Hawaii‘s Big Island. Officials with the U.S. Geological Survey confirmed Wednesday that an eruption has begun in Kilauea volcano‘s Halemaumau crater at the volcano‘s summit. Footage of the crater showed lava fountains covering the floor of the crater and billowing clouds of volcanic gas were rising into the air. The same area has been home to a large lava lake at various times throughout the volcano‘s eruptive past. The eruption is not in an area with homes and is entirely contained within Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. (Credit Image: © USGS/ZUMA Press Wire)、クレジット:©USGS/ZUMA Press Wire/共同通信イメージズ

2021年10月02日Kilauea Volcano Eruption 2021October 2, 2021 - Big Island, Hawaii, USA - There have been no major changes in the ongoing eruption at Kilauea summit over the past day. All eruptive activity is confined within Halemaumau crater, in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. The vent on the western wall and the fountain within the south-central portion of the lava lake remain the most vigorous and are producing the largest gas plumes. Sulfur dioxide (SO2) emission rates were measured at approximately 14,750 tonnes per day (Credit Image: © USGS/ZUMA Press Wire Service/ZUMAPRESS.com)、クレジット:©USGS/ZUMA Press Wire Service/ZUMAPRESS.com/共同通信イメージズ

In the late afternoon on Sunday, October 3, the maximum fountain height was measured at approximately 11 meters (36 ft). This photo was taken from the south rim of Halemaumau looking to the west around 4:00 p.m. HST. This image shows the ongoing eruption within Halemaumau crater at the summit of Kilauea. The eruption began the afternoon of September 29, 2021, as fissures in the floor of the crater; this activity is generating a lava lake that is slowly filling the crater. 2021年10月08日Kilauea Volcano Eruption 2021October 8, 2021 - Big Island, Hawaii, USA - On September 29, 2021, fissure vents opened in Halemaumau crater. A new lava lake began to form on the one previously active from December 2020-May 2021. The base of the crater after the 2018 collapse was 517.4 m/1698 ft above sea level (asl). A water lake occupied the base of the crater from July 2019 December 2020, to a depth of 50.9 m/167 ft (equal to an elevation of 568.3 m/1865 ft asl). The water lake was evaporated when an eruption began in Halemaumau crater in December 2020. That eruption created a lava lake that reached a depth of 158 m/518 ft (equal to an elevation of 675.4 m/2216 ft asl) by December 23, 2020. By the end of that eruption in May 2021, the lava lake had reached a depth of 223 meters/732 ft (equal to an elevation of approximately 741 meters/2431 ft above sea level). The eruption that began on September 29, 2021, continues to fill the bottom of Halemaumau crater and by October 6, had reached a depth of 256.6 m/842 ft (equal to an elevation o...

2022年10月28日Mauna Loa Volcano Erupts For First Time In Nearly 40 YearsOctober 28, 2022 - Big Island, Hawaii, USA - A Kilauea summit monitoring overflight the morning of October 28 provided this view of Halemaumau crater floor, which slowly rises with the continuing eruption. The active lava lake is visible in the upper right portion of the image. Measurements from the overflight indicated that the crater floor has risen a total rise of about 143 meters (469 feet), and that 111 million cubic meters (29.2 billion gallons) of lava had been effused since the beginning of this eruption on September 29, 2021. 2023年01月11日Kilauea GlowsJanuary 11, 2023 - Hawaii, USA - Just after 4:30 p.m. local time on January 5, 2023, Kilauea Hawaii‘s youngest and most active volcano began erupting once again. Scientists at the U.S. Geological Survey‘s Hawaiian Volcano Observatory saw a glow in summit webcam images indicating that the eruption had resumed. They detected fissures at the base of Halemaumau crater, within the summit caldera, which generated lava flows. Multiple fountains of lava became active in Halemaumau crater on the afternoon of January 5. One large burst of lava reached 50 meters (164 feet) high and covered the crater floor with lava. By evening, lava had spilled across the crater at depths of about 10 meters (32 feet). The Operational Land Imager (OLI) on Landsat 8 acquired this image on January 11, 2023.
