    中国湖北省武漢市青山区の長江南岸に位置する青山江灘(湿地)は全長7503メートル、総面積135・48ヘクタールに達する。「特に水鳥の生息地として国際的に重要な湿地に関する条約(ラムサール条約)」第14回締約国会議(COP14)の視察地となっている青山江灘は、雨水をスポンジのように吸収して循環させる機能を持つ「スポンジ都市」の理念を取り入れ、洪水防止・冠水排出、環境修復、生態保全、空間の複合利用などさまざまな機能を兼ね備えることで注目されている。同市で緑化率が最も高い生態湿地として、「スポンジ機能」を有する面積は青山江灘第2期浅瀬工事の総面積の6割以上を占める。改修後の青山江灘は洪水防止機能が向上し、公園部分の面積も約150ヘクタール増加、都市のヒートアイランド現象を大幅に緩和させた。ラムサール条約のCOP14は中国の武漢市とスイスのジュネーブで13日まで開催される。(記者/余国慶潘志偉) =配信日: 2022(令和4)年11月11日、クレジット:新華社/共同通信イメージズ
