Potted plants spend the winter in the Orangerie

30 October 2018, Brandenburg, Neuzelle: The gardener Florian Böhme from the Neuzelle Monastery Foundation takes care of the bitter orange trees that spend the winter here in the orangery of the monastery garden. At 7 to 8 degrees Celsius, about 120 tub plants spend the winter in the building of the Orangery. The orange, lemon and laurel trees will be put back into the grounds of the monastery garden in mid-May. The Neuzelle monastery, about ten kilometres south of Eisenhüttenstadt, is the only Cistercian monastery in Brandenburg that has been completely preserved, including its exterior, and is one of the few undestroyed monasteries in Germany and Europe.
