In Brandenburg, winter rapeseed is currently cultivated on 98,900 hectares. After a sharp decline in the past few years, rapeseed cultivation is now on the rise again. The plant produces valuable food and animal feed. One hectare of rapeseed yields around 1,600 kilograms of rapeseed oil. That is the equivalent of 1,740 bottles of cooking oil. 2022年06月25日Europe bridge is opened25 June 2022, Brandenburg, Neurüdnitz: Dietmar Woidke (l, SPD), Minister President of Brandenburg, looks through binoculars at the opening of the Europe Bridge, which creates a link between the two countries over the German-Polish border river Oder, and tries to spot an eagle owl that has its nest near the bridge. Standing next to it is Martin Müller, Eagle Owl Officer. The former railroad bridge between the Brandenburg municipality of Oderaue (Oderbruch) and the Polish Siekierki of the West Pomeranian town of Cedynia was opened on the same day for pedestrians and cyclists. Cars cannot use this connection. The Europabrücke creates another possibility to cross the Oder River besides the one between Hohenwutzen and Osinow Dolny and the ferry connection between Gozdowice and Güstebieser Loose.
