1975年08月29日“脳診断”に新兵器が登場コンピューターと連結した断層エクス線撮影装置(CAT)EMIスキャナー。英国EMI社が英保健省と共同開発しEMIスキャナーの名で知られており、エクス線発見以来の画期的発明と評価されている。CATはエクス線走査装置とミニコンピューターの組み合わせ。走査装置は、エクス線発生器と検出器が対向したユニットの中に頭部を入れ検査する=1975(昭和50)年8月29日、東京・新宿の東京女子医大脳神経センター(50年内地 5951)
