2022年03月16日Moldova Fears Being Next Putinâs Target - ChisinauREMINISCENCE OF THE SOVIET UNION. GOVERNEMENT HOUSE OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA Chisinau, capital of Moldova, March 2022. For Moldovans, watching Russia‘s invasion of neighbouring Ukraine brings back painful memories of the country‘s own conflict involving Moscow-backed separatists 30 years ago -- and is stirring fears that the country might become Russia‘s next target. Around 80 km (80 miles) to the east of Chisinau is the Russian-backed breakaway region of Transnistria, which seceded in 1990. Not recognised by the international community, Moscow still has a military base there as well as a stockpile of some 20,000 tonnes of munitions. Chisinau‘s longstanding demand for the troops to leave has been in vain. Photo by Nathan Laine/ABACAPRESS.COM=2022(令和4)年3月16日、クレジット:Laine Nathan/ABACA/共同通信イメージズ

Photo by Nathan Laine/ABACAPRESS.COM=2022(令和4)年3月20日、クレジット:Laine Nathan/ABACA/共同通信イメージズ

2022年03月20日Moldova Fears Being Next Putinâs Target - ChisinauREMINISCENCE OF THE SOVIET UNION. Soviet-era sculpture of a football in front of the Communist-era circus building built in 1981 in the city of Chisinau Chisinau, capital of Moldova, March 2022. For Moldovans, watching Russia‘s invasion of neighbouring Ukraine brings back painful memories of the country‘s own conflict involving Moscow-backed separatists 30 years ago -- and is stirring fears that the country might become Russia‘s next target. 2022年05月09日Victory Day in Chisinau, Moldova - 9 May 2022May 9, 2022, Chisinau, Moldova: A man who was a member of the army during the time of the USSR walks through the streets of Chisinau with some flowers in his hand to take them to the Eternitate Memorial Complex. This May 9 in Chisinau, Moldova, 77 years of Victory Day were commemorated in all the republics of the former Soviet Union. This date represents the day that Germany signed its surrender and with them, the Second World War ended. Amid tensions over the armed conflict in neighboring Ukraine and fearing that the attacks could spread to Moldova, the Moldovan government canceled official acts for this date, to avoid propaganda acts of any kind. Despite them, thousands of people took to the streets of Chisinau, the capital, and went to the Eternitate Memorial Complex every year to commemorate the tens of thousands of Moldovans who participated in World War II and lost their lives.
