Planting trees on the Bioland farm

03 March 2020, Brandenburg, Leuenberg: Ralf Behring (l), owner of the Bioland farm Behring, is planting with Konrad Blenau (M) and Ralph Zimmermann, both are doing a Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ), an apple tree of the variety Auralia (Malus domestica, which was donated by the Brandenburg Minister of the Environment Vogel (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen). On the initiative of the Förderverein Märkischer Wald e.V. (Märkischer Forest Support Association), several apple trees were planted on the meadow orchard of the Bioland farm Behring in Leuenberg (Märkisch-Oderland) on the day of species protection on 3 March. There are about 200 fruit trees in over 40 different varieties. Orchard meadows can be the habitat of up to 5,000 animal and plant species. This makes them one of the most species-rich biotopes in Germany. Climate regulation, water filtration or local recreation are only some of the reasons for maintaining orchard meadows. 、クレジット:ZB/DPA/共同通信イメージズ
