    福井工大とJAXAが月探査衛星の地上局開発に取り組み

    福井工業大学は15日、口径16・5メートルのパラボラアンテナを整備し、宇宙航空研究開発機構(JAXA)と月探査用衛星の地上局開発に取り組むと発表した。JAXAが2021年11月に宇宙に送る深宇宙探査の超小型人工衛星「エクレウス」を使い技術を確立する。月軌道衛星用の地上局は民間では国内初で、海外でも珍しい。将来は国内外の利用、大学の宇宙人材育成の強化につなげる。同大学の運営法人が10億円強を投じ、22年夏ごろに福井工大あわらキャンパス(福井県あわら市)にパラボラアンテナを整備する。地球から44万キロメートル離れた月軌道付近にあるJAXA衛星とのマイクロ波周波数「X帯」での受信、送信、軌道決定支援の3機能を確立させる。JAXA保有のアンテナを主に、福井工大の地上局がサブの役割を担う。併せて口径3・7メートルのパラボラアンテナを国の補助金などを活用して整備。地球軌道衛星の運用基地とする。福井工大は03年から自前の口径10メートルのパラボラアンテナで衛星データ利用を研究。文部科学省の採択事業で独自の超小型衛星を21年度に宇宙に送る計画も進めている。写真は会見する福井工大の掛下知行学長(左から3人目)とオンライン参加のJAXA研究者。=2020(令和2)年12月15日、撮影場所不明、クレジット:日刊工業新聞/共同通信イメージズ
