2020年09月14日Valuable book inventories are cleaned14 September 2020, Saxony, Leipzig: In the baroque backdrop library of the Francke Foundations in Halle/Saale, Tina Oley (r) of the specialist company Preservation Academy Leipzig cleans a 9.5 kilogram Lüneburg Bible (1665) from the valuable book holdings with the support of graduate librarian Anke Mies. The valuable books are cleaned of dust, micro-organisms and pests using special vacuum cleaners and microfibre cloths. Over the next few weeks, around 64,000 books will be removed individually from the shelves in Germany‘s oldest secular library building and returned to their original location after dry cleaning of the book spines, cut edges and shelves.
