The eagerly awaited results announced last year from the orbiting Wilkinson Microwave Anisotropy Probe resolve several long-standing disagreements in cosmology rooted in less precise data. Specifically, present analyses of above WMAP all-sky image indicate that the universe is 13.7 billion years old (accurate to 1 percept), composed of 73 percept dark energy, 23 percept cold dark matter, and only 4 percept atoms, is currently expanding at the rate of 71 km/sec/Mpc (accurate to 5 percept), underwent episodes of rapid expansion called inflation, and will expand forever. This illustration shows Earth surrounded by theoretical filaments of dark matter called ‘hairs.‘ Dark matter is an invisible, mysterious substance that makes up about 27 percent of all matter and energy in the universe. The regular matter, which makes up everything we can see around us, is only 5 percent of the universe. 2021年03月16日Hubble Shows Us The FutureMarch 16, 2021, Space, Sometime in the far distant future, about 4 billion years from now, our Milky Way galaxy will collide with the neighboring Andromeda galaxy, as illustrated in this artist‘s rendition. The universe is expanding and accelerating, and collisions between galaxies in close proximity to each other still happen because they are bound by the gravity of the dark matter surrounding them. The Hubble Space Telescope‘s deep views of the universe show such encounters between galaxies were more common in the past when the universe was smaller. Hubble went on to discover the expanding universe where galaxies are rushing away from us, but it has long been known that M31 is moving toward the Milky Way at about 250,000 miles per hour. HERA is an underground ring accelerator over six kilometers long, the world‘s most precise electron microscope for studying the internal structure of the proton. 00:56.022022年10月21日「新華社」中国錦屏地下実験室、第2期建設工事が順調に進む四川省中国四川省涼山イ族自治州内の雅礱江(がろうこう)河畔にある錦屏山トンネルでは現在、中国錦屏地下実験室(CJPL)の第2期プロジェクト建設工事が順調に進んでいる。プロジェクトチームは「地下2400メートル」という極限状態における課題を克服し、最も「クリーン」な実験室の建設を進めている。同プロジェクトは建設大手の中国建築第三工程局が建設を請け負った。建築面積は約4万平方メートル、空間容積は約30万立方メートルとなっている。第2期プロジェクト完成後、同実験室は暗黒物質(ダークマター)の検出や天体核物理学、生命科学、岩石力学などを扱う世界レベルの学際的開放・共有型実験プラットフォームとなり、地下深部科学研究のための貴重な場を提供する。(記者/蕭永航) =配信日: 2022(令和4)年10月21日、クレジット:新華社/共同通信イメージズ
