  「福島民報」「民報ニュース」松明あかし　須賀川

  日本三大火祭りの一つ、須賀川の松明あかしの準備が始まった。高さ２０メートル、直径２メートルの松明が、次々と山に運ばれていく。タイヤ使ったモダンな松明も。日が暮れると、城主を祭った二階堂神社で祈願祭が行われる。白装束の若者たちが松明に火を移して市内を巡回し、赤禿山（五老山）に向かう。午後６時、花火の合図で火の柱が一斉に燃え上がる。人出はざっと３万人。撮影日：１９５９（昭和３４）年１１月１０日、クレジット：福島民報社／共同通信イメージズ
