    Florida News - February 11, 2022

February 11, 2022, Tampa, Florida, USA: Dave Bredahl, 68, Tampa, looks into the machine as Misty Swendryck, 39, Practitioner and Director of the Diabetic Testing Program, prepares to test him for diabetic eye disease at the Network Eye clinic inside the CVS store at 8801 W Linebaugh Avenue on Friday, Feb. 11, 2022 in Tampa. The clinic will include testing and also treatment for diabetic retinopathy, a condition where blood vessels leak into the back of the eye, and macular degeneration, an eye disease that causes vision loss. One in four diabetics are at risk of vision problems but almost 40 percent of those with the disease do not get vision screening. The medical firm has also equipped a mobile lab that will be towed around Tampa Bay to bring screening into neighborhoods. Residents will be able to go into the labs without appointments for a 5-minute checkup with instant results from clinical staffers on board.
