    Garrison Church Potsdam

03 March 2020, Brandenburg, Potsdam: A flattened sandy area extends behind the portal of the Garrison Church (r). In the background the church St. Nikolai (M) at the Old Market Square is visible. The church was built between 1730 and 1735 according to the plans of the architect Philipp Gerlach and was considered a major work of the Prussian Baroque. After the bombing by the Allies on 14 April 1945, only ruins remained, which were blown up and removed only in 1968. The reconstruction of the Garrison Church is limited to the church tower, which is scheduled for completion by summer 2022. Photo: Soeren Stache/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB、クレジット:ZB/DPA/共同通信イメージズ

Stralsund town hall and St. Nikolai church

15 June 2020, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Stralsund: View of the St. Nikolai church and the town hall (r) at the “blue hour“. The partially gold-plated, approximately 80 kilogram jewellery discs were made around 1880 according to the late medieval model. It is assumed that the star discs symbolise the kingdom of heaven, which as a divine order stands above the earthly, human order - the town hall with its council. The town hall in the World Heritage city of Stralsund is one of the most important Hanseatic secular buildings in the Baltic Sea region.
