2010年01月30日World News - January 30, 2010January 30, 2010: A US Army M551 Sheridan Tank on patrol in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The US negotiated a peaceful occupation of Haiti to return the deposed President.Jean-Bertrand Aristide and remove ruling military junta led by General Joseph Cedras. The US Armyââ¬â¢s 10th Mountain Division became the primary occupying power in Haiti. The M551 Sheridan an air droppable tank was used to help command the Haitian opposition. It was a light tank developed to be air portable and was used by the US from 1967 till 1997. The Sheridan was amphibious and tecnologically advanced, but suffered many problems and later was renamed as a Armored ReconnaissanceAirborne Assault Vehicle.
