A delegation, including Prime Minister Andrej Babis (left), Environment Minister Richard Brabec (both ANO), Finance Minister Alena Schillerova (centre), Transport Minister Vladimir Kremlik (both for ANO) and Agriculture Minister Miroslav Toman (Social Democrats, CSSD), visited the Vysocina Region today, on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, to see the measures taken by foresters against the barkbeetle calamity. Under current legislation, roe deer can be hunted from mid-May to the end of September, doe deer from September to the end of December, fallow deer from mid-August to the end of the year. The ministry plans to allow deer hunting during the whole year to protect the young tree plants. Andrej Babis

A delegation, including Prime Minister Andrej Babis (centre), Environment Minister Richard Brabec (both ANO), Finance Minister Alena Schillerova, Transport Minister Vladimir Kremlik (both for ANO) and Agriculture Minister Miroslav Toman (Social Democrats, CSSD), visited the Vysocina Region today, on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, to see the measures taken by foresters against the barkbeetle calamity. Under current legislation, roe deer can be hunted from mid-May to the end of September, doe deer from September to the end of December, fallow deer from mid-August to the end of the year. The ministry plans to allow deer hunting during the whole year to protect the young tree plants. The Czech Republic has been facing a barkbeetle calamity for several years, but experts say the current situation is the worst in the history of Czech forestry. The people at demonstrations against Czech PM Andrej Babis (ANO) protest against free elections, while anti-Communist protesters in 1989 called for them, President Milos Zeman said today, on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, when visiting the Vysocina Region. He does not expect Babis‘s cabinet to fall in the next 2.5 years and says its opponents would have to wait for the changes until the next elections. People have been protesting against Babis since April, mainly because of the Capi hnizdo case of a suspected EU subsidy fraud, in which Babis is among the prosecuted. The last demonstration against Babis took place in Prague‘s Letna Park on Sunday and some 283,000 people joined it. They blame Babis for being in a conflict of interest and are concerned about the independence of the judiciary. (CTK Photo/Lubos Pavlicek)、クレジット:CTK/共同通信イメージズ
