Under favorable prevailing conditions, it strengthened further to deep depression, associated with winds in excess of 60 kmh. Joint Typhoon Warning Center ( Hawaii) has announced the system as tropical storm-4. Wind speed in association with tropical storm range between 34-47knots (62-88kmh). While over land, the weather system will give cloud sky with heavy to very heavy rains over Gangetic West Bengal, North Odisha, North Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh in a staggered manner between 01st and 05th August. 2023年03月08日Record-Breaking Cyclone Freddy Hitting Mozambique For A Second TimeMarch 8, 2023, Mozambique: Since developing off the coast of North Australia in early February (2023), Tropical Cyclone Freddy has travelled across the Indian Ocean, bringing powerful winds and downpours to anything in its long and wandering path..This unusually long-lived cyclone struck the east coast of Madagascar on 21 February. It then crossed the Mozambique Channel and made landfall in Mozambiqueââ¬â¢s Inhambane province near Vilankulo, where it stalled and dropped a huge amount of rain before doubling back towards the west coast of Madagascar again. This satellite image, taken on 8 March shows the weakening storm was following a northwesterly track toward a likely second landfall in Mozambiqueââ¬âthis time in the Zambezia province..An infusion of dry air and the stormââ¬â¢s position over relatively cool waters meant Freddy was weakening and the eye had broken down when the image was acquired. However, forecasters at the Joint Typhoon Warning Center warned that Freddy will likely still hit Mozambiq...

2022年02月04日Cyclone Batsirai 2022February 4, 2022 - Madagascar - After being soaked in mid-January 2022 by persistent, flooding rainstorms and Tropical Storm Ana, citizens of Madagascar are bracing for the arrival of another potent cyclone. Forecasters from the U.S. Joint Typhoon Warning Center suggest Cyclone Batsirai is likely to make landfall on February 5 in central Madagascar between Mahanoro and Mananjary as a category 2 storm. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs estimated that 4.5 million people live within the projected path of the storm. Meteo Madagascar predicted 20 to 40 centimeters (8 to 16 inches) of rainfall and warned of the potential for widespread flooding in the east, southeast, and central highlands. 2021年12月17日Super Typhoon Rai 2021December 17, 2021 - Philippines - This image, acquired in the late morning on December 17 by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on NASA‘s Terra satellite, shows the storm on the western side of the Philippines as it started to track northwest. Sustained winds were still whipping at 180 kilometers (110 miles) per hour. Forecasters from the U.S. Joint Typhoon Warning Center predicted that the storm would head toward Vietnam and southern China in the coming days. Rai (Odette) is the 15th typhoon to pass through or close to the Philippines this year. The archipelago typically sees more landfalling storms annually than any other place on Earth (Credit Image: © NASA Earth/ZUMA Press Wire Service/ZUMAPRESS.com)、クレジット:©NASA Earth/ZUMA Press Wire Service/ZUMAPRESS.com/共同通信イメージズ

2021年05月17日Cyclone Tauktae Strikes IndiaMay 17, 2021, India: An unusually powerful tropical cyclone named Tauktae struck the Indian state of Gujarat. The VIIRS on the NASA-NOAA Suomi NPP satellite acquired this natural-color image of the storm a few hours before it made landfall between Porbander and Mahuva. As Tauktae approached land, the U.S. Joint Typhoon Warning Center reported maximum sustained winds of 100 knots (125 miles per hour) and gusts up to 125 knots (145 miles per hour), equivalent to a category 3 or 4 hurricane. The Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) on board NASA‘s Terra satellite acquired a true-color image of the storm on May 16 as Tropical Cyclone Tauktae spun just off the coast of India as it charged northward to make landfall between Porbandar and Mahuva less than 24 hours later. As Tauktae approached land, the U.S. Joint Typhoon Warning Center reported maximum sustained winds of 125 mph (185 km/h) and gusts up to 145 mph (230 km/h), equivalent to a strong Category 3 storm on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.
