Commemoration of the Day of Liberation in Sachsenhausen

18 April 2021, Brandenburg, Oranienburg: Dietmar Woidke (l, SPD), Minister President of Brandenburg, and Rabbi Andreas Nachama listen to a video recording of a speech by Klaus Reichmuth, survivor of Sachsenhausen concentration camp, at the “Station Z“ memorial site in the Sachsenhausen memorial as part of the central commemorative events on Liberation Day. The SS called “Station Z“ a building erected in early 1942 that was a crematorium and place of extermination. “Z“ as the last letter of the alphabet, cynically stood for the last station in the life of a prisoner.
