    2023年06月05日
Walking from Santiago to Muxia and Finisterre in Spain

June 5, 2023, Dumbria, Spain: A view of the church of the city almost hidden by the fog. The Camino de Santiago (the Way of St. James) is a large network of ancient pilgrim routes stretching across Europe and coming together at the tomb of St. James (Santiago in Spanish) in Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Finisterre was both the end of the known world until Columbus altered things and the final destination of many of the pilgrims who made the journey to Santiago in past centuries. Pilgrims in past centuries also continued northwards up the coast to the Santuario de Nuestra Señora de la Barca in Muxía, 29km north of the âend of the worldâ itself. Very peaceful route and very different from the crowded route prior to Santiago. Haunting Images Show Germany‘s Disused Berlin-Tegel Airport

February 2, 2023, Berlin, Germany: A new book by photographer Andreas Gehrke brings together photographs of the disused Berlin-Tegel Airport and pays homage to the iconic structure...On 8 November 2020 the last commercial aircraft departed from the airport after all traffic had been transferred gradually to the new Berlin Brandenburg Airport. It left a haunting, empty space - where the history of the site continues to resonate. ..Gehrke visited the site between 2020 and 2021, photographing the once crowded main terminal, the decommissioned airfield and the abandoned auxiliary buildings. His images show a defining moment in the history of the site, in which the emptiness captured by Gehrke brings to light both stasis and vision...Without air traffic operations, the entire Berlin Tegel complex is a listed building monument whose existence is legitimised by its architectural, infrastructure and historical significance. The airport was built in the wake of the 1948 Berlin Airlift when the Tempelhof airport wa...
