In the centre Ave notice a fountain of crystal water playing; around it a rich profusion of ferns, palms, bananas, and other semi-tropical vegetation renders the picture a specimen which the inner courtyard of a Moorish mansion, always open to the sky, usually presents, and which seems so necessary a luxury in such a hot climate. Here the coolness so necessary in a tropical clime is alone to bo found; it is here that the master of the Moorish house spends most of his time.
