    南京古生物博物館に展示されている原始中華竜鳥のタイプ標本模型。(1月29日撮影)恐竜が地球を支配した期間は1億6千万年に及び、人類とその他の哺乳類よりはるかに長い。彼らは完全に姿を消したのか。中国江蘇省南京市の南京古生物博物館が収蔵する原始中華竜鳥(シノサウロプテリクス)の化石は、恐竜の行方を解明できるかもしれない。化石の中の竜鳥の全長は約70センチ。細長い尾を垂らし、頭を高く上げている。中華竜鳥が生息していたのは1億2500万年前で、化石は1995年、遼寧省で発見された。薄い灰色の火山凝灰岩の中に保存され、タイプ標本になった化石は凹面と凸面の二つの部分に分かれている。二つの化石は1996年、それぞれ北京の中国地質博物館と南京の中国科学院南京地質古生物研究所に送られた。南京古生物学博物館の展示・陳列部で責任者を務める賀一鳴(が・いつめい)氏によると、中華竜鳥が人々を驚嘆させたのは良好な状態で保存された羽毛で、羽毛を明確に確認できた最初の恐竜化石となった。研究者らは当初、恐竜に酷似した鳥ではないかと考え「原始中華竜鳥」と名付けた。研究者らは研究を進めるにつれ、中華竜鳥が短い前肢と長い尾を持ち、骨格の特徴は鳥類との類縁関係が比較的遠く、コンプソグナトゥス科の恐竜に属すことを発見。長い羽毛を持つ恐竜は生物界に衝撃を与えた。中国科学院古脊椎動物・古人類研究所の趙祺(ちょう・き)副研究員は「中華竜鳥の発見は、人々の恐竜に対する固定観念を覆し、羽毛は鳥だけのものではなくなった。発見は恐竜と鳥類の起源研究の歴史の新たな1章を開いた」と述べた。現在の科学界は、鳥類の起源が恐竜、具体的には獣脚類(獣脚亜目)マニラプトル類であるとしている。中華竜鳥の発見後、中国では遼寧省西部とその近隣地域でジュラ紀後期や白亜紀前期の恐竜と初期鳥類の化石が多数発見され、鳥類の起源を研究する上で重要な情報をもたらした。賀氏によると、恐竜の体を覆う羽毛と体温を一定に保つ恒温性、優れた運動能力は、恐竜に移動能力と地球の気候変動に抵抗する能力を与えた。6600万年前の大量絶滅により非鳥類型恐竜類、翼竜、海棲爬虫(かいせいはちゅう)類の支配は終わったが、恐竜の子孫に当たる鳥類のごく一部は絶滅を免れ、その後の新生代に空を支配した。これらの種は哺乳類の2倍近い1万1千種以上に発展し、最終的に私たちがよく知る現代の鳥類になった。(南京== 配信日: 2024...

    中国国家統計局がこのほど発表した中国共産党第18回全国代表大会(2012年11月)以降の経済・社会発展成果に関する報告書によると、21年の国内総生産(GDP)当たりエネルギー消費量は12年に比べ26・4%低下した。10年間の年平均減少率は3・3%、標準炭換算で約14億トンのエネルギーを節約した。エネルギー生産は構造転換が進み、クリーンエネルギーの割合が高まった。非化石エネルギーの発電設備容量は21年に初めて石炭火力発電を上回って11億2千万キロワットに達し、総設備容量の47・0%を占めた。水力、風力、太陽光発電の設備容量はいずれも3億キロワットを超え、複数年にわたり世界一を維持した。エネルギー消費のクリーン・低炭素化が進んだ。21年のエネルギー消費量全体に占める割合は石炭が12年の68・5%から12・5ポイント減の56・0%、石油が17・0%から1・5ポイント増の18・5%、天然ガスが4・8%から4・1ポイント増の8・9%、1次電力とその他のエネルギーは9・7%から6・9ポイント増の16・6%となった。1人当たりのエネルギー消費量は増え続けた。20年の1人当たりエネルギー消費量(標準炭換算)は12年比18・9%増の3531キロとなり、年平均で2・2%増加した。(北京=新華社配信)= 配信日: 2022(令和4)年10月12日、クレジット:新華社/共同通信イメージズ
