Greiffenberg mill being reconstructed 29 June 2020, Brandenburg, Angermünde/Ot Greiffenberg: A windmill without wings is located on a small hill just before entering the village. The so-called octagonal earth-holland mill, built in 1830 by order of the Greiffenberg miller and baker Bernhard Heide, was in operation as a grain mill until 1938. After that the building deteriorated rapidly until lightning, fire and a storm left only the skeleton. The Verein zur Förderung von Landwirtschaft, Handwerk und Kultur e.V. started collecting donations and reconstructing the historic building more than twenty years ago after the ownership issue had been clarified. One of the first sponsors was Prince von Oettingen-Spielberg, whose commitment by donating a large load of wood was certainly also an inspiration for many other donors.
