    海洋温度差エネルギーは重要な新エネルギーであり、世界の新エネルギー研究の重要分野でもある。中国地質調査局広州海洋地質調査局が中心となって研究・開発した20キロワットの浮体式海洋温度差発電装置はこのほど、南中国海での洋上試験に成功し、広東省広州市南沙区に帰還した。中国が実際の海洋環境下で海洋温度差発電の原理検証と系統的な運用を実現したのはこれが初めてで、中国の深海エネルギーの開発・利用を着実に推進した。海洋温度差エネルギーは海洋再生可能エネルギーの一つで、表層海水と深層海水との温度差で生まれる熱エネルギーを指し、開発の価値と潜在力が極めて高い。同局の寧波(ねい・は)高級工程師(シニアエンジニア)によると、中国の海洋温度差エネルギーは豊富だが、関連研究はこれまで、依然として実験室での理論研究および陸上試験の段階にあった。海洋温度差エネルギー研究をさらに進めるため、同局はこれまでに南中国海で実施した海洋地質、海流、水文などの分野での基礎調査・研究成果を基に、南中国海の海水温の3次元モデルを作成。温度差エネルギーの開発に適する海域を評価し、選出した。さらに、天然ガスハイドレート探査・開発国家工程研究センターや南方海洋科学・工程広東省実験室(広州)、中国地質科学院探査技術研究所、技術サービスを手掛ける北京前沿動力科技などの機関・企業と共同で、南中国海の実際の状況に照らして中国初となる20キロワットの浮体式海洋温度差発電装置を独自に開発した。この発電装置は今年8月、多機能新型科学調査船「海洋地質2号」に塔載され、南中国海の水深1900メートルの海域で初めての洋上実験を展開し、温度差発電技術の検証に成功した。寧氏によると、発電の試験時間は4時間47分、最大出力は16・4キロワット、設備利用率は17・7%に達した。寧氏は「今回の海洋での試験により、独自開発した海洋温度差発電システムの原理の実行可能性と海洋温度差発電利用の実用性が検証された。これは中国の海洋温度差エネルギーの開発・利用が陸上試験から海上の系統的な応用に向けて重要な一歩を踏み出したことを意味している」と説明した。(記者/周穎、欧陽建嘉) =配信日: 2023(令和5)年9月16日、クレジット:新華社/共同通信イメージズ
