Frankfurt City Hall to be renovated 14 February 2020, Brandenburg, Frankfurt (Oder): The town hall of the border town is partly surrounded by scaffolding. The listed building in the city centre has been in a dilapidated condition for a long time. According to the city, ceilings are in danger of collapsing, walls are mouldy and the roof is leaking. The upper floors of the town hall have been closed for a long time due to building regulations. The city councillors have been meeting in the Kleist Forum for about six years because the conference hall is closed due to the acute danger of collapse. According to the city, the overall concept includes, among other things, a listed renovation and modernisation of the building. The town hall was built shortly after the foundation of the town in 1253 in the style of North German brick Gothic. During the Second World War, the building was severely damaged and later rebuilt as a landmark of the city. 、クレジット:ZB/DPA/共同通信イメージズ 「DPA」
