「DPA」 Exhibition “Cistercians on paper and parchment 19 February 2020, Brandenburg, Neuzelle: Tilmann Schladebach, spokesman for the Neuzelle Monastery Foundation, is sitting behind one of three volumes of the Neuzelle transcription from 1455 of the psalm commentary by Matthäus von Königsaal (on loan from the Berlin State Library - Prussian Cultural Heritage, Manuscript Department). Psalm commentaries, theological anthologies of the Church Fathers and the Rule of Benedict, according to which the Cistercian monks have also lived for centuries, will be shown from 22 February in the special exhibition “Cistercians on paper and parchment“ in the Neuzelle Monastery (Oder-Spree). The historical documents from the 15th century are handwritten on paper or parchment. They reached the Berlin State Library via many detours about 190 years ago.
