21 April 2020, Saxony, Leipzig: Employees of the logistics company Kühne & Nagel sort cartons with protective masks in the goods receiving area. The procurement of protective equipment is a major challenge for the Free State of Saxony. Since the end of March, protective masks, goggles, gowns and disposable gloves have been collected in the logistics company‘s central warehouse and distributed as required to hospitals, schools, police and nursing homes throughout Saxony. The Ministry of the Interior estimates that 15 million medical protective masks will be needed in Saxony in six months. Of these, however, only one million protective masks have arrived so far.
