Summer at the Baltic Sea - Rape field on Rügen 14 May 2020, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Lancken-Granitz: The hunting lodge is situated on the Tempelberg in the middle of the Granitz, only a few kilometres away from the Baltic seaside resorts Binz and Sellin. The building with its 38-metre-high lookout tower was built in 1836 by order of Prince Malte zu Putbus in neo-Gothic style. Visually, the bright yellow flowering winter rape currently dominates the fields of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. With a cultivation area of a good 173,000 hectares, rapeseed is the second most common crop in the state, according to the Statistical Office in Schwerin on 14 May 2020.
