July 29, 2020, Washington, DC, USA: Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is embraced as family and members of Congress, including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) bid farewell to Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) as the flag-draped casket is carried down the East Front steps the U.S. Capitol for the final time in Washington DC on July 27, 2020. All were required to wear masks and socially distance at ceremonies and a public viewing during the coronavirus pandemic. The civil rights icon passed away at 80 years old and is the first Black lawmaker to be honored in this way.
