30 July 2020, Saxony-Anhalt, Hundisburg: Landscape gardener Andy Ladwig uses a wooden stencil to cut back the trees of an avenue of lime trees in the garden of Hundisburg Palace. The first buildings of Hundisburg Castle were already erected in the 12th century. In 1452 the von Alvensleben family acquired the complex. Johann Friedrich von Alvensleben had the Hundisburg converted into a Baroque palace and laid out the Baroque garden by the Braunschweig state architect Hermann Korb at the end of the 17th century. Hundisburg Palace and the baroque garden are part of the network “Garden Dreams - Historical Parks in Saxony-Anhalt“ which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year.
