According to Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds, the storm damaged 10 million acres of corn and soybeans in Iowa, about 1 one-third of Iowa‘s 32 million acres of agricultural land. Justin Glisan, Iowa‘s state meteorologist, said the storm Monday, Aug. 10, lasted 14 hours and traveled 770 miles through the Midwest before losing strength in Ohio.
