29 October 2020, Saxony-Anhalt, Letzlingen: A wheeled tank of the type Fuchs is driving over a runway on the area of the combat training center of the military training area Altmark. Currently, the exercise “Heidesturm 2020“ is taking place there, where 800 soldiers of the Panzerlehrbataillon 93 from Lower Saxony are training the combat. In total, around 1100 soldiers are in the combat training centre. The exercise will continue until the beginning of November. In January, the Panzerlehrbataillon 93 will move to Lithuania as part of the NATO mission “Enhanced Forward Presence“. There the battalion will be deployed as the lead unit of the German-led combat unit (Battle Group). The NATO mission is intended to secure the Eastern European states.
